Wheels II : Yesterday’s Post Reconsidered

After sweltering for seven hours Saturday under the blazing Florida sun as we roamed aimlessly among hundreds and hundreds of glaringly shiny new cars with no shade in sight; after car shopping all day with this lady who comparison shops in the grocery store and takes 20 minutes to decide on which can of beans to buy — and after NOT having actually bought a car yet — I wish to retract yesterday’s post.

Maybe God is not the one who likes me and wants to see me buy a new car!

The last time I had to buy a car (and it was urgent as a flood had wrecked my old car), I was fortunate enough to find a business called Car Search. You drive there, park your car, and someone drives you around to huge wholesale car places (often indoors). They know what you're looking for and can cut to the chase. The price of their fee is built into the price of the car, and was very competitive. I had selected my car within 3 hours - one of the most pleasant shopping expeditions I've ever been involved in. I'm sure they'd have similar services there, John.
